Dear Ladies [Poem]

Dear ladies, I wrote this poem on behalf of the men of our generation…
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, I reasoned as a child but when I became a man I put away childish things when I became a man I realized the damage I did when I was a child and for that I am sorry.
For all those times that we led you on and broke your heart
We lied about our motives because they were impure from the start
for all those times that you trusted us and we broke your trust
for all those times that you loved us but all we had for you was lust…
on behalf of the men of our generation, I have to say I am sorry.
For all those times, we neglected you or made you feel insecure
And all heartaches and pain that we made you endure
for all those times that all we noticed about you was your looks and your body
and failed to realize your character, your value, and you're worth and personality
on behalf of the men of our generation, I have to say I am sorry.
For all those times, we addressed you as a little girl instead of as a queen
For all the broken promises and saying things we didn’t really mean
Instead of taking you seriously, we turned it into a game
Instead of bringing you joy, we were the cause of your pain
on behalf of the men of our generation, I have to say I am sorry.
I want you to know that we are still a work in progress.
God is still working on us and he is nowhere near done, it's a long process.
And we are learning to become more like the image of his son and he’s teaching us how to love
So, that your attention and affection is something we'll be worthy of
I'm sorry you met us when we were boys
You see, boys play so in return, we treated you like toys
Please don’t let the way we’ve treated you make you feel or think any less of yourselves
Because You are beautiful and worthy of love
Divinely created by God above
You are worth more than you could imagine
More than your weight, your height, your style, your fashion
You are worth more than the things you wear
Worth more than your make-up or the style of your hair
You are worth more than the pain you bear
My sisters, you are precious and you are rare
It’s hard to define you in just a couple of bars
But you are the daughters of the one who made the stars
Of all of God’s creations, you surpass them all by far
The question is, do you know who you are?
You are loved more than you will ever know
By a loving savior that’s not going to let you go
Whatever you think you’re worth, you’re worth much more
Cause in the eyes of God, you are worth dying for
And when you stay prayed up you’ll never fall prey
Plus you are beautiful in your own unique way
So be confident and know what your worth is
Because once you know your worth, no one can ever make you worthless.
